Currently living in Oslo, I am originally from Rio de Janeiro. I moved to Norway in the summer of 2013, since then, I have fulfilled a master’s degree, learned Norwegian and worked in different projects. From Brazil, I brought lots of work experience within consulting, fieldwork investigations, strategies for sustainable business and communication, not mentioning my personal experiences and cultural understandings as a local.

In Oslo, I have worked as consultant, adviser, editor and translator for several clients and organizations. Although I commonly present myself as a sustainability specialist, I like to say I am more of a generalist, as I enjoy understanding vary subjects from different fields.

Grounded on my work in Brasil as well as in my education, since I came to Norway, I also work as a Brazilian affairs specialist and translator. During the years I worked as a consultant, I had the opportunity to interact with diverse peoples in a wide range of locations in Brazil. These experiences gave me a broad understanding of my country, which is big and very much diverse.

Crossing these experiences with concepts I learned at the business school and the practical duties I performed while working for different companies, resulted in a bold and unique professional profile.

Marcela Oliveira Svoren has a MPhil in Culture, Environment and Sustainability from the University of Oslo (UiO/SUM), is an Environment Specialist by the University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ/COPPE), and has Bachelor in Communication and Marketing from the School of Higher Education in Advertising and Marketing (ESPM).
